     {Autos-da-f['e]}. [Pg., act of the faith; auto act, fr. L.
     actus + da of the + f['e] faith, fr. L. fides.]
     1. A judgment of the Inquisition in Spain and Portugal
        condemning or acquitting persons accused of religious
        offenses.
