  Groom \Groom\, n. [Cf. Scot. grome, groyme, grume, gome, guym,
     man, lover, OD. grom boy, youth; perh. the r is an insertion
     as in E. bridegroom, and the word is the same as AS. guma
     man. See {Bridegroom}.]
