  Zonar \Zo"nar\, n. [Mod. Gr. ? a girdle, fr. Gr. ?, dim. of ? a
     girdle. See {Zone}.]
     A belt or girdle which the Christians and Jews of the Levant
     were obliged to wear to distinguish them from Mohammedans.
