  Mycose \My"cose\ (m[imac]"k[=o]s), n. [Gr. my`khs a mushroom.]
     (Chem.)
     A variety of sugar, isomeric with sucrose and obtained from
     certain lichens and fungi. Called also {trehalose}. [Written
     also {mykose}.]
