  Shaddock \Shad"dock\, n. [Said to be so called from a Captain
     Shaddock, who first brought this fruit from the East Indies.]
     (Bot.)
     A tree ({Citrus decumana}) and its fruit, which is a large
     species of orange; -- called also {forbidden fruit}, and
     {pompelmous}.
