  organometallic \or`ga*no*me*tal"lic\, a. (Chem.)
     Pertaining to, or denoting, any one of a series of compounds
     of certain metallic elements bound to organic radicals; such
     as, methylmercury, zinc methyl, sodium ethyl, etc.; formerly
     refered to as {metalorganic}.
