  natica \nat"i*ca\, n.; pl. {naticas}, L. {naticae} (-s[=e]).
     (Zool.)
     Any one of numerous species of marine gastropods belonging to
     {Natica}, {Lunatia}, {Neverita}, and other allied genera
     (family {Naticidae}.) They burrow beneath the sand, or mud,
     and drill other shells.
