     poy`s, podo`s, foot.] (Zool.)
     Any one of several species of large-footed, gallinaceous
     birds of the genera {Megapodius} and {Leipoa}, inhabiting
     Australia and other Pacific islands. Called also {mound
     builder}, {scrub fowl}, {moundbird}, and {brush turkey}. See
