  minuend \min"u*end\, n. [L. minuendus to be diminished, fr.
     minuere to lessen, diminish. See {Minish}.] (Arith.)
     In the process of subtraction[2], the number from which
     another number (the subtrahend) is to be subtracted, to find
     the difference.
