Raw palm sugar, made in the East Indies by evaporating the
fresh juice of several kinds of palm trees, but specifically
those of the palmyra ({Borassus flabelliformis}) and jaggery
palm ({Caryota urens}). [Written also {jagghery} and
{jaggary}.]
