1 definition found From The Free On-line Dictionary of Computing (27 SEP 03) [foldoc]: dual-homedA kind of connection to a {FDDI} network where a {host} is simultaneously connected to two separate devices in the same FDDI ring. One of the connections becomes active while the other one is automatically blocked. If the first connection fails, the backup link takes over with no perceptible delay. A dual-homed device can tolerate a fault in one of its "homes" whereas a {dual-attached} device can tolerate a fault in one of the rings. (1994-12-13)
