  Generatrix \Gen`er*a"trix\, n.; pl. L. {Generatrices}, E.
     {Generatrixes}. [L.] (Geom.)
     That which generates; the point, or the mathematical
     magnitude, which, by its motion, generates another magnitude,
     as a line, surface, or solid; -- called also {describent}.
