  Goutweed \Gout"weed`\, Goutwort \Gout"wort`\n. [So called from
     having been formerly used in assuaging the pain of the gout.]
     (Bot.)
     A coarse umbelliferous plant of Europe ({Aegopodium
     Podagraria}); -- called also {bishop's weed}, {ashweed}, and
     {herb gerard}.
