  Zygophyllaceae \Zy`go*phyl*la"ce*ae\, prop. n.
     A natural family of small trees, shrubs, and herbs of warm
     arid and saline regions; it is often resinous, and some are
     poisonous. It contains the genera {Zygophyllum}; {Tribulus};
     {Guaiacum;} and {Larrea}.
