  Waistcoat \Waist"coat\, n.
        (a) A short, sleeveless coat or garment for men, worn
            under the coat, extending no lower than the hips, and
            covering the waist; a vest.
        (b) A garment occasionally worn by women as a part of
            fashionable costume.
