  Vignette \Vi*gnette"\ (?; 277), n. [F. vignette, fr. vigne a
     vine. See {Vine}, and cf. {Vinette}.]
     1. (Arch.) A running ornament consisting of leaves and
        tendrils, used in Gothic architecture.
