  Vanadic \Va*nad"ic\, a. (Chem.)
     Pertaining to, or obtained from, vanadium; containing
     vanadium; specifically, designating those compounds in which
     vanadium has a relatively higher valence as contrasted with
     the {vanadous} compounds; as, vanadic oxide.
