     (assumed) LL. vidulitia, from L. vidulus a leathern trunk; a
     knapsack.]
     A small sack or case, usually of leather, but sometimes of
     other material, for containing the clothes, toilet articles,


     etc., of a traveler; a traveling bag; a portmanteau.
