  Tripod \Tri"pod\, n. [L. tripus, -odis, Gr. ?; ? (see {Tri-}) +
     ?, ?, foot. See {Foot}, and cf. {Tripos}, {Trivet}.]
     1. Any utensil or vessel, as a stool, table, altar, caldron,
        etc., supported on three feet.
