  Thornbird \Thorn"bird`\, n. (Zool.)
     A small South American bird ({Anumbius anumbii}) allied to
     the ovenbirds of the genus {Furnarius}). It builds a very
     large and complex nest of twigs and thorns in a bush or tree.
