  Termite \Ter"mite\, n.; pl. {Termites}. [F. See {Termes}.]
     (Zool.)
     Any one of numerous species of pseudoneoropterous insects
     belonging to {Termes} and allied genera; -- called also
     {white ant}. See Illust. of {White ant}.
