  Terebra \Ter"e*bra\, n.; pl. E. {Terebras}, L. {Terebrae}. [L.,
     a borer.]
     1. (Zool.) A genus of marine gastropods having a long,
        tapering spire. They belong to the Toxoglossa. Called also
        {auger shell}.
