  Swell \Swell\, v. i. [imp. {Swelled}; p. p. {Swelled} or
     {Swollen}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Swelling}.] [AS. swellan; akin to
     D. zwellen, OS. & OHG. swellan, G. schwellen, Icel. svella,
     Sw. sv[aum]lla.]
