  Speculum \Spec"u*lum\, n.; pl. L. {Specula}, E. {Speculum}. [L.,
     fr. specere to look, behold. See {Spy}.]
     1. A mirror, or looking-glass; especially, a metal mirror, as
        in Greek and Roman archaeology.

        the whiteness.
