  South \South\, v. i. [imp. & p. p. {Southed}; p. pr. & vb. n.
     {Southing}.]
     1. To turn or move toward the south; to veer toward the
        south.

        south line; -- said chiefly of the moon; as, the moon
        souths at nine.
