  Sorbin \Sor"bin\, n. (Chem.)
     An unfermentable sugar, isomeric with glucose, found in the
     ripe berries of the rowan tree, or sorb, and extracted as a
     sweet white crystalline substance; -- called also
     {mountain-ash sugar}.
