     jarabe, jarope, LL. siruppus, syrupus), fr. Ar. shar[=a]b a
     drink, wine, coffee, sirup. Cf. {Sherbet}.]
     1. A thick and viscid liquid made from the juice of fruits,
        herbs, etc., boiled with sugar.
