     skyrta, Dan. skiorte, Sw. skjorta, Dan. ski["o]rt a
     petticoat, D. schort a petticoat, an argon, G. schurz,
     sch["u]rze, an argon; all probably from the root of E. short,
     as being originally a short garment. See {Short}, and cf.
     {Skirt}.]
