     vb. n. {Shimmering}.] [OE. schimeren, AS. scimerian; akin to
     sc[imac]mian, sc[imac]man, to glitter, D. schemeren, G.
     schimmern, Dan. skimre, Sw. skimra, AS. sc[imac]ma a light,
     brightness, Icel. sk[imac]ma, Goth. skeima a torch, a
