  Scyphophori \Scy*phoph"o*ri\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. sky`fos a cup
     + fe`rein to bear.] (Zool.)
     An order of fresh-water fishes inhabiting tropical Africa.
     They have rudimentary electrical organs on each side of the
     tail.
