     & vb. n. {Scrimping}.] [Cf. Dan. skrumpe, G. schrumpfen, D.
     krimpen. Cf. {Shrimp}, {Shrink}.]
     To make too small or short; to limit or straiten; to put on
     short allowance; to scant; to contract; to shorten; as, to
     scrimp the pattern of a coat.
