  Scioptic \Sci*op"tic\, a. [Gr. ? shadow + ? belonging to sight:
     cf. F. scioptique. See {Optic}.] (Opt.)
     Of or pertaining to an optical arrangement for forming images
     in a darkened room, usually called scioptic ball.
