  Rove \Rove\, v. i. [imp. & p. p. {Roved}; p. pr. & vb. n.
     {Roving}.] [Cf. D. rooven to rob; akin to E. reave. See
     {Reave}, {Rob}.]
     1. To practice robbery on the seas; to wander about on the
