  Rockrose \Rock"rose`\, n. (Bot.)
     A name given to any species of the genus {Helianthemum}, low
     shrubs or herbs with yellow flowers, especially the European
     {Helianthemum vulgare} and the American frostweed,
     {Helianthemum Canadense}.
