  Reward \Re*ward"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Rewarded}; p. pr. & vb.
     n. {Rewarding}.] [OF. rewarder, another form of regarder, of
     German origin. The original sense is, to look at, regard,
     hence, to regard as worthy, give a reward to. See {Ward},
     {Regard}.]
