     r['e]ceptacle, L. receptaculum, fr. receptare, v. intens. fr.
     recipere to receive. See {Receive}.]
     1. That which serves, or is used, for receiving and
        containing something, as for examople, a {basket}, a
        {vase}, a {bag}, a {reservoir}; a {repository}.
