     (r[e^]d"[i^]*[~e]r); superl. {Readiest}.] [AS. r[=ae]de; akin
     to D. gereed, bereid, G. bereit, Goth. gar['a]ids fixed,
     arranged, and possibly to E. ride, as meaning originally,
     prepared for riding. Cf. {Array}, 1st {Curry}.]
