  Pulsation \Pul*sa"tion\, n. [L. pulsatio a beating or striking:
     cf. F. pulsation.]
     1. (Physiol.) A beating or throbbing, especially of the heart
        or of an artery, or in an inflamed part; a beat of the
        pulse.
