  Proclitic \Pro*clit"ic\, a. [Gr. ? to lean forward; ? forward +
     ? to lean or incline. Cf. {Enclitic}.] (Gr. Gram.)
     Leaning forward; -- said of certain monosyllabic words which
     are so closely attached to the following word as not to have
     a separate accent.
