  Pliohippus \Pli`o*hip"pus\, n. [NL., fr. E. pliocene + Gr. ?
     horse.] (Paleon.)
     An extinct genus of horses from the Pliocene deposits. Each
     foot had a single toe (or hoof), as in the common horse.
