  Planaria \Pla*na"ri*a\, n.; pl. L. {Planari[ae]}, E. {-rias}.
     [NL. See {Planary}.] (Zool.)
     Any species of turbellarian worms belonging to {Planaria},
     and many allied genera. The body is usually flat, thin, and
     smooth. Some species, in warm countries, are terrestrial.
