  Picrotoxin \Pic`ro*tox"in\, n. [Gr. ? bitter + toxic + -in.]
     (Chem.)
     A bitter white crystalline substance found in the cocculus
     indicus. It is a peculiar poisonous neurotic and intoxicant,
     and consists of a mixture of several neutral substances.
