  Peritricha \Pe*rit"ri*cha\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. peri` about +
     ?, ?, hair.] (Zool.)
     A division of ciliated Infusoria having a circle of cilia
     around the oral disk and sometimes another around the body.
     It includes the vorticellas. See {Vorticella}.
