  Perigone \Per"i*gone\, n. [Pref. peri- + Gr. ? productive
     organs.]
     1. (Bot.)
        (a) Any organ inclosing the essential organs of a flower;
            a perianth.
        (b) In mosses, the involucral bracts of a male flower.
