  Peck \Peck\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Pecked} (p[e^]kt); p. pr. &
     vb. n. {Pecking}.] [See {Pick}, v.]
     1. To strike with the beak; to thrust the beak into; as, a
        bird pecks a tree.
