     patchouli; prob. of East Indian origin.]
     1. (Bot.) A small shrubby mintlike plant ({Pogostemon cablin}
        syn. {Pogostemon Patchouli}) of the East Indies, yielding
        an essential oil from which a highly valued perfume is
        made.
