  Paragonite \Pa*rag"o*nite\, n. [From Gr. ?, p. pr. of ? to
     mislead.] (Min.)
     A kind of mica related to muscovite, but containing soda
     instead of potash. It is characteristic of the paragonite
     schist of the Alps.
