  Ocellus \O*cel"lus\, n.; pl. {Ocelli}. [L., dim. of oculus an
     eye.] (Zool.)
        (a) A little eye; a minute simple eye found in many
            invertebrates.
        (b) An eyelike spot of color, as those on the tail of the
            peacock.
