  Nine-bark \Nine"-bark`\, n. (Bot.)
     A white-flowered rosaceous shrub ({Neillia opulifolia}, or
     {Spiraea opulifolia}), common in the Northern United States.
     The bark separates into many thin layers, whence the name.
