  Nibelungs \Ni"be*lungs\, n. pl.; sing. {Nibelung}.
     In German mythology, the children of the mist, a race of
     dwarfs or demonic beings, the original possessors of the
     famous hoard and ring won by Siegfrid; also, the Burgundian
     kings in the Nibelungenlied.
